Houghton College has received the highest ranking, four out of four stars, for quality of life at a college according to the latest updated edition of the Fiske Guide to Colleges 2014.

“Houghton Students tend to be highly relational people who love nothing better than to enjoy the company of friends over a meal,” reviewed Fiske when quoting a current Houghton College senior student. “They [Houghton College students] are often mission minded and like to serve others.”

For 30 years the Fiske Guide to Colleges has been a voice in the college search for the “best and most interesting” schools.  USA Today has touted the Fiske Guide to Colleges as “the best college guide you can buy.”

Compiled by former New York Times education editor Edward B. Fiske, a top independent voice in college admissions, Fiske Guide to Colleges 2014 is a selective, subjective, and systematic look at 300 plus colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada, and Great Britain.

In referencing college students, an excerpt from the Fiske Guide says, “…they do come [to Houghton College], and for good reason…there’s little to distract them from their studies, the campus’s natural beauty, and their connection to God.”

Readers will discover the personality of Houghton College based on a broad range of subjects, including student body, academics, social life, financial aid, campus setting, housing, food, and extracurricular activities.
