Executive director of Fighting Addiction Through Education, Jim Priest ‘77, will be the speaker at Houghton College’s annual Founders’ Day Convocation on Friday, October 5, 2012, in Wesley Chapel.  

Prior to his appointment as executive director of FATE, Priest practiced law with two prominent law firms in Oklahoma City. With thirty years of experience in the legal and business sectors, Priest continues to serve his local community through nonprofit foundations.  He previously served as president of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and as a board member for Habitat for Humanity, the Boy Scouts, Variety Health Center, The Bethany Public School Foundation, Calm Waters and Oklahoma City First Church of the Nazarene.

Jim is an active member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene where he leads men’s groups and teaches Sunday school. He is a co-founder of Marriage Network Oklahoma and was a founding member of the Oklahoma Business Ethics Consortium. He has regularly appeared on television and before groups, speaking and writing on a wide variety of topics. Jim is also a member of Leadership Oklahoma and Leadership Oklahoma City.

Priest and his wife of 33 years, Diane, have two adult children, Amanda and Spencer.
