Houghton College Breaks Ground on 2.5-Megawatt Solar Installation

Houghton College today announced that it has broken ground on a 2.5-megawatt (MW) solar energy installation that will provide more than half of the school’s electricity consumption and reduce its energy costs by approximately 46 percent. Expected to be completed in December, this installation will be the largest solar project on a college campus in Western New York and one of the largest in the entire state.

Houghton Hosts Faith & Justice Symposium - War, Conflict and Violence: Stories of Hope

The fourth annual Faith and Justice Symposium, sponsored by both Houghton College and the Center for Faith, Justice and Global Engagement, will host a three-day symposium entitled War/Conflict/Violence: Stories of Hope, which will begin Wednesday, September 24 and continue through Saturday, September 26 at Houghton College. The event features guest speakers Reverend Celestin Musekura, president and CEO of African Leadership and Reconciliation Ministries (ALARM) and Molly Little, office of humanitarian affairs with the United Nations. All events are free and open to the public.
