A commencement ceremony celebrating 44 Houghton College adult education undergraduates took place Saturday, May 18, 2013, in John and Charles Wesley Chapel at the Houghton, New York, campus. Each of the students earned a Bachelor of Science degree in management. Graduates came from six cohorts: three from West Seneca (Cohorts P7, R7 and W7), Cohort N7 of Jamestown, Cohort Q7 from Dansville and Cohort S7 from Olean.

Leadership Allegany chairperson Pamela Witter welcomed the program’s newest cohort with an opening retreat at Houghton College on Friday, April 26. The class of 2014 is the program’s largest class to date with 19 adult professionals from Allegany County enrolled.

Twenty-nine senior business majors at Houghton College have scored in the top five percent in a nationally administered test designed to examine their knowledge in the field of business. The Business Major Field Test was administered at 585 institutions to 80,708 undergraduate students. It is intended to compare the skills and knowledge of the brightest business students at each school to those at similar institutions, in order to improve instruction and learning.
