Houghton Business Students Ranked Among the Top Nationally

Thirty-three Houghton College business students have scored in the top 11 percent of all U.S. colleges and universities in the ETS Business Major Field test, a nationally administered test designed to examine students’ knowledge in the field of business. Additionally, seven students scored in the top eight percent, and one student scored in the top one percent in a field of more than 30,000.

Houghton Graduates Class of 2015

On Saturday, May 9, Houghton College celebrated the graduation of the class of 2015 along with family, friends, faculty, staff, administrators, the board of trustees and members of the Class of 1965. The morning presented with a warm sun and a perfect light breeze as 228 of the 244 graduates marched across the campus quad towards Wesley Chapel led by the rhythmic marching sounds of Andrew Hutton’s ’18 bagpipes. As these graduates enter the commencement ceremony, they will be joining the ranks of the other 22,000-plus Houghton alumni throughout the world.

The Kerr Vogan Legacy

Mike Kerr ’15 is about to take a walk down graduation aisle at Houghton College this Saturday and enter a new world that is much bigger than his college experience. Majoring in business with a music minor, this will mark the end of four tough years during which Mike was not only a scholar and musician, but also an athlete. However, Houghton is much more than just those four years to Mike. His family legacy traces back to over 80 years and a total of 18 family members who have had the opportunity to create cherished memories at this great institution.

Houghton College junior Esther Efthimiou ’16 has been honored by the Greatbatch School of Music as the 2015 recipient of The Presser Foundation Undergraduate Scholar Award and will receive a cash award of $4200.
