FIVE
HOUGHTON PROFESSORS HONORED BY WHO’S WHO
HOUGHTON, N.Y.
– Five Houghton College professors are included in the newest issue of “Who’s
Who Among America’s Teachers” for their excellence in teaching. The following
professors were named to the directory: Bruce Brenneman, assistant professor
of English; Richard Eckley, associate professor of theology; Harold Kingdon,
professor of Christian ministries; Bill Swanson, professor of physical
education and chair of the physical education/recreation department; and Paul
Watson, assistant professor of mathematics education.
The 8th
edition of this directory (2004) lists approximately 134,000 of the nation’s
best and most well-respected teachers. The teachers are nominated by students
who are among the top five percent of college students listed in other Who’s
Who publications. The students were asked to nominate one teacher from their
entire academic career who made a difference in their lives by helping to
shape their values, inspired interest in a particular subject, and challenged
them to strive for excellence.
