WORLD FAMOUS TRUMPETER TO VISIT HOUGHTON COLLEGE
HOUGHTON, N.Y.
— Adolph Herseth, former principal trumpet of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra,
will present a master class at Houghton College on Thursday, April 20 at 8
p.m.
Herseth was asked to join the Chicago
Symphony Orchestra in 1948 by music director Fritz Reiner. For the next 53
years, he served as principal trumpet of the orchestra under music directors
Jean Martinon, Georg Solti and Daniel Barenboim.
This clinic is part of the Houghton
Brass Institute. The master class will be held in the Center for the Arts
Recital Hall at Houghton and is free and open to the public. For more
