HOUGHTON, N.Y.—Houghton College is hosting The Rising Group’s “Rising Event” on Friday, March 16 at 7 p.m. in Wesley Chapel.

This event is part humanitarian fair, part concert and part ecumenical service. “The Rising Group” is a not-for-profit Christian organization that aims to bring spiritual awakening and humanitarian activism into students’ lives,” said Bethany Olson, director of the organization. “We seek to use art and music to understand the evil we see in the world around us, which will transform our relationships with other people so that we develop a greater willingness to serve those in need and be a voice for those who cannot defend themselves.”

Both secular and faith-based organizations have partnered with The Rising Group for this event. The Rising Group is recruiting a diverse array of organizations in order to maximize humanitarian impact. Each organization will have representatives at the event.
