BUSINESS STUDENTS RANK IN TOP 10 PERCENT IN NATIONAL TEST

HOUGHTON, N.Y. —For the second year in a row, Houghton College senior business majors ranked in the top 10 percent of all institutions across the country administering the Major Field Test in business of the Educational Testing Service.

Of the 30 Houghton business majors that took the test, four of them also scored in the top 5 percent of individual scores across the country.

The exam results are also broken down into the subject areas of accounting, economics, management, quantitative business analysis, finance, marketing, legal and social environment, and international business issues. Houghton students placed in at least the top 25 percent in each of these areas.

The Major Field Tests are innovative undergraduate and MBA outcomes assessments designed to measure the basic knowledge and understanding achieved by students in a major field of study. Test results enable academic departments to better assess and refine curricula, gauge the progress of students compared to others in the program and those in similar programs at schools throughout the country.
