Ravi Zacharias Visits Houghton College as Guest Speaker

HOUGHTON, N.Y. —Ravi Zacharias, internationally known lecturer and author, speaks at Houghton College on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. in the Wesley Chapel.
Zacharias is listed as a distinguished lecturer with the Staley Foundation and has appeared on CNN and other international broadcasts. His weekly radio program, "Let My People Think," is broadcast over 1,500 stations worldwide, and his weekday program, "Just Thinking," began airing in November 2004. He is president of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., with additional offices in Canada, India, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.
Zacharias has spoken all over the world, and at the invitation of Billy Graham, he was a plenary speaker at the International Conference for Itinerant Evangelists in Amsterdam in 1983, 1986, and 2000. He has addressed writers of the peace accord in South Africa, President Fujimori's cabinet and parliament in Peru, and military officers at the Lenin Military Academy and the Center for Geopolitical Strategy in Moscow. He has given the main address at the National Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C., has spoken twice at the Annual Prayer Breakfast at the United Nations in New York and addressed the delegates at the First Annual Prayer Breakfast for African Leaders.
His most recent books include “The Grand Weaver” and “Walking from East to West: God in the Shadows.” His first book was updated and republished in 2004 as “The Real Face of Atheism.” His second book, “Can Man Live without God” was awarded the Gold Medallion for best book in the category of doctrine and theology. “Deliver Us from Evil” followed with an accompanying video series. His first children's book, “The Merchant and the Thief” was released in 1999, followed by “The Broken Promise.” The first in a series of great conversations, “The Lotus and the Cross: Jesus Talks with Buddha” was released in 2001, and the second, “Sense and Sensuality: Jesus Talks with Oscar Wilde,” in 2002. Other books include: “Light in the Shadow of Jihad,” “Recapture the Wonder,” “Cries of the Heart,” “Jesus Among Other Gods,” and “I, Isaac Take Thee, Rebekah.”
