CLEW SERIES ON OUR CALL TO COMMUNITY

HOUGHTON, N.Y. —Dr. John Brittain, dean of the chapel at Houghton College, presents a series of sermons on our call to community in the kingdom of God and in the world at large during Houghton College’s Christian Life Emphasis Week (CLEW), Jan. 14-17.  

 

Brittain has served as dean of the chapel and professor of religion at Houghton since 2003. Prior to Houghton, Brittain served in a similar position at Evansville (Ind.) University. From 1985-1987 he was director of The University Chapel Fellowship at the University of South Florida and from 1979-1985 he served as chaplain at Wesley College in Dover, Del.

Brittain has written numerous articles on theology and campus ministry issues, and he has been extensively involved in service and ministry efforts in the United States and abroad.

He holds a bachelor’s from Brown University, a master’s from The Methodist Theological School in Ohio, and a doctorate from St. Mary’s Seminary and University, Baltimore, Md.
