Conversations that Matter Explores Stem Cell Research
HOUGHTON, N.Y. —Conversations that Matter explores the controversial hot topic of stem cell research on Sunday, May 18 at 7 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Olean.
“Stem Cell Research: Navigating the Moral Maze,” presented by Ben Lipscomb, associate professor of philosophy at Houghton College, explores how to view the promising research that may involve the destruction of days-old human embryos. The discussion will consider the moral dilemmas surrounding this issue and examine how much agreement on these matters we can hope for between what often seem like opposing sides.
Conversations that Matter is free of charge and open to the public.
Each discussion will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 633 Linwood Ave. More information can be found at www.houghton.edu/conversations/ or by calling 585.567.9665 or 716.372.3495.
