Houghton College P.A.C.E. Holds Fall Commencement
HOUGHTON, N.Y. —Several area residents were among the 25 students to earn bachelors of science degrees in management through Houghton College’s adult degree-completion Program for Accelerating College Education (P.A.C.E.).
Houghton College President Shirley Mullen presided over commencement exercises honoring 15 who participated in the program at Houghton’s West Seneca campus and 10 who attended P.A.C.E. classes in Jamestown.
P.A.C.E. alumnus Benjamin Gair III, 1993 graduate and executive officer of Meals on Wheels for Western New York Inc., presented the commencement address. For the past 15 years, Gair has assisted Meals on Wheels in developing a $7.5 million state-of-the-art commissary to serve the Western New York region.
P.A.C.E. responds to the educational needs of working adults. P.A.C.E. students are able to complete their bachelor’s degrees in approximately 16 months, attending class one evening per week. Students are considered full time and are eligible for federal and state financial aid as well as federal student loans.
