An Invitation from President Mullen
Oberammergau 2010: The Passion Play and The Danube
HOUGHTON, N.Y. –
Join President Mullen and Dr. & Mrs. Ben King for an
unforgettable Oberammergau Passion Play experience followed by a
Danube River cruise – Tuesday 13 July through Sunday 25 July
2010. Participants will fly to Munich, unwind and enjoy the
city, travel to Oberammergau and experience the power of the
Passion Play. From there they journey to Regensburg where they
will board the Amadeus “Symphony,” an exquisite European river
steamer, for a journey to Budapest, stopping in Passau, Linz,
Vienna, and Bratislava for excursions, concerts, and
exploration.
This
particular journey brings together the rich history, culture,
and religious heritage of Central Europe. In addition to the
events noted in the brochure, the tour will build in time for
individual exploration and optional excursions. The group will
also make time for informal discussion and reflection on all
that they are learning in their travels.
Already, the town of Oberammergau, Germany is preparing to present the Passion Play in 2010, as they have done every ten years for over three centuries. That town understands faithfulness! They know what it means to steward a heritage in a way that both affirms their own identity and benefits the rest of the world.
“It
is my hope that, as we travel together in this tradition of
pilgrimage, we will come into a larger vision of God’s glory and
His presence in our world, an enriched understanding of the
privilege of friendship in our lives, and a renewed energy for
faithfully stewarding the individuals that God has invited us to
be in the world in our time,” said President Mullen.
Space is limited for this exciting trip to the first thirty individuals who respond. If you have any questions, please contact the President’s office at 585-567-9310.
