College Choir On National Radio Program

Houghton College Choir to Perform in BuffaloHOUGHTON, N.Y. – On Sunday, January 24, 2010, the Houghton College Choir will be heard on With Heart and Voice, a nationally broadcast public radio show. The choir is featured as part of the local radio broadcast heard from 8 to 10 a.m. on WXXI, 91.5 F.M.  

 This week’s With Heart and Voice features selections from the Houghton College Choir’s newly released compact disc titled Bathe me O God in Thee – the choir’s fifth recording. The 9:00 hour will consist of music by George Schumann, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Rene Clausen and Robert Shaw. The College Choir, under the direction of Brandon Johnson, recorded the selections at the Recital Hall of the Center for the Arts at Houghton College.  

The weekly radio program, hosted by Peter DuBois, consists of choral and organ music being aired by more than 100 radio stations in 35 states across the United States. With Heart and Voice covers a wide spectrum of Western sacred music, with brief organ selections offered between choral works.
