Houghton College Selects Sodexo as
Food Service Provider
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Houghton College recently announced its new partnership with Sodexo, a leader in Quality of Daily Life Solutions, to provide food service to students, faculty, staff and guests at the college.
“This change is an exciting one for Houghton Dining Services,” stated Sharra Hynes, vice president for student life. “We will expand choices and satisfy our community’s need for fresh, fast cuisine that tastes good and fuels our busy lives.”
The Campus Center Dining Hall at Houghton College will be undergoing extensive renovations this summer and students can expect to enjoy a number of choices at a variety of new eating venues. Flying Star Diner will specialize in tasty burgers and other comfort food. Basic Kneads will serve pre-made or made-to-order sandwiches. Students and staff looking for a vegan or vegetarian meal will find it at the Wild Mushroom while the Houghton Market will serve salads and fresh fruits daily. In addition, the Bella Trattoria station will feature a brick oven – highlighting fresh baked pizzas, pastas, and calzones.
“Sodexo looks forward to being a trusted part of the community and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the students, faculty and staff at Houghton College,” said Thomas Rosier, District Manager for Sodexo.
Houghton Dining Services provides a sustainable atmosphere by purchasing local foods when available and using Fair Trade Coffee as well as utilizing other outlets to maintain a green environment.
As part of the transition process, Houghton College is exploring opportunities to change existing meal plans for the upcoming school year. If you have ideas, please e-mail the college with suggestions at dine@houghton.edu.
