Synapse Instructions for P.A.C.E. Students
The following are instructions on how to access Houghton's
Course Management System (CMS), Synapse that will be used for all
P.A.C.E. core courses.
- Access Synapse for P.A.C.E. by going to:
http://www.houghton.edu/library/PACESynapse/PACE_portal_page.htm
(it would be recommended that you bookmark this
page).

Synapse for Online Courses: if
you are accessing Synapse for an
Online Option course you will go to
the main Synapse portal page at:
http://synapse.houghton.edu/historic/
and click on the "semester" that
your course falls under and skip to
#3 below. If you are not sure what
semester your course is in view the
course page on the P.A.C.E. website
or ask your
academic advisor.

Click on your Cohort and the Current Term that
you are enrolled.

Please secure your Houghton College Network
Username and Password. This information was
sent to you within the first few weeks of P.A.C.E.
If you are not able to find that information at this
time, please email the P.A.C.E.
Office at pace@houghton.edu and we will re-send the
needed information.

When entering your Username, only enter the
first and last name. Do NOT add the '@houghton.edu'
(i.e. firstname.lastname).

You should see a Red box to the Right entitled
"Classrooms" and in that box you will see
the courses for that term that you are registered.

Click on your current class and proceed.

The links along the top of the page that you
will most likely use are "Content," "Assignments,"
and possibly "News".
