Physics and Engineering at Houghton.

Students studying physics and engineering at Houghton learn about the most basic principles at work in the physical universe and how to glorify God by applying these principles to meet people’s needs.

We believe that physics and engineering should be more than an academic exercise and that the best way to learn is by doing! Our courses are designed to give students hands-on experience right from the first-year Introduction to Engineering course all the way through to the final research project.

Our physics program is intentionally relational and is designed to allow professors and students to spend time together - something rare in today's world of large impersonal universities. Students have their own office space, and it’s very common for us to spend our afternoons working together at the chalkboards, discussing research problems and encouraging one another.
