Highlanders
Finish Road Trip with 5-0 Win Over Geneva

The
Highlanders finished their weekend road double-header against AMC North Division
opponent Geneva College Golden Tornado’s with a 5-0 shut-out today. The
Highlanders improve to 8-0-1 for the season with an undefeated 4-0 start to AMC
conference play.
The
Highlander’s have much to be happy about after this road trip, not only have
they solidified their position over the AMC North Division but the trip was then
highlighted by the return of NAIA First Team All American
Jr. Bethany Kowalczyk
(Waterford, PA) from injury this weekend.
The
Highlander’s shelled out 31 shots for the game with 21 of those being on goal,
keeping the Golden Tornado keeper busy tallying 16 saves for her effort today.
It took
the Highlanders thirty minutes before finding their first goal of the game by
Rebecca Smith (Carlisle, PA).
Hannah Swift (Perrysburg, N.Y) scored the
next Highlander goal in the 32nd minute assisted by
Mandy Lewandowski (North East, PA) which lead the Highlanders into
half time with a 2-0 lead.
Jr. Bethany Kowalczyk
(Waterford, PA)
scored
her 66th career goal in the 54th minute of the game
assisted by Rebecca Smith (Carlisle, PA).
Hannah Swift (Perrysburg, N.Y)
struck again with her second goal of the game in the 75th minute
assisted by Andrea Duryea (Washington, N.J.)
for her first assist of the season.

scored her first goal of the season in the 77th minute making a
welcomed comeback from surgery that kept her out of the first seven matches this
year.
So. Bethany Studt
(Earlville, N.Y.)
earned
her 3rd shut-out of the season with an impressive performance from the
Highlander defense not allowing a single shot on goal today.
The Highlanders next game
will be away at 4pm September 26th against Myer’s University in Cleveland, Ohio
