N.Y. –
On a
cold and windy day, the Highlanders hot streak continued with a victory over

the score board until late in the first half. The first Highlander goal came in
the 29th minute as Jr. Bethany Kowalczyk
(Waterford, PA) picked up the ball and dribbled towards the Virginia
Intermont defense flocked towards Jr. Kowalczyk
leaving So. Hannah Swift (Perrysburg, NY)
with an open shot as she pulled the goalkeeper out of the net. The second
Highlander goal came just two minutes later in the 31st minute from a
quick restart off a free kick in which Jr. Rebecca
Smith (Carlisle, PA) passed a short ball to
Sr. Bridget Toth (Victor, NY) who sent a
through ball to an open So. Mandy Lewandowski
(North East, PA) blasting it past the goalkeeper. The last goal of the
first half came in the 41st minute on a direct kick when
So. Hannah Swift (Perrysburg, N.Y.) gave a
quick touch to Sr. Krista Fowlkes (Lake
Placid, FL) who sent a ball that deflected off the Virginia Intermont
defense into the net.
The
second half was relatively inactive yet the Highlanders were able to score the
only goal of the half late in the half. In the 76th minute
Jr. Bethany Kowalczyk (Waterford, PA)
single handedly beat the Virginia Intermont defense as well as the goalie.
So. Bethany Studt

record in their next game tomorrow Saturday, October 14th versus AMC rival
Carlow College at Founders Field, PA with the kickoff at 4PM.
