Highlanders  Volleyball Team Drops  Two On The Road

Pittsburgh, Pa.- The Houghton College volleyball team fell to American Mideast Conference (AMC) opponents Ursuline College and Point Park University today in a tri-match series. The Highlanders fall to 8-15 for the season and 1-5 in AMC play.

The Highlanders struggledlosing to Ursuline College 3-0 (22-30, 28-30, 28-30) and to Point Park University 3-0 (21-30, 25-30, 25-30).

Against Ursuline College, Darby Emerson recorded 11 kills and 23 digs. Ashley Kuvshinikov and Holly Motheral each added seven kills. Leah Scott had five kills and four blocks. Megan Phipps tallied 31 assists for the match.

Against Point Park University, Ashley Kuvshinikov had 10 kills. Brianne Brubaker had a double-double with 19 assists and 11 digs and Leah Scott added six blocks.

The Highlanders will come home for Homecoming weekend on October 5-6 for their next match. Houghton will play Friday in the Highlander Alumni game at 7:00 pm and then again on Saturday against AMC opponent Walsh College at 1:00 pm.
