Pink, a three-year starter at Hilton, was named the team’s Offensive MVP in 2001 and Defensive Player of the Year in 2003. The three-time scholar-athlete honoree also received the George Collamer Outstanding Sportsmanship Award in 2003-04. She received the U.S. Army Scholar Athlete Award in 2004 and was a nominee for the Wendy’s Heismann Scholar Athlete Award in 2003-04.
Pink is a member of the Rochester Blizzards travel team and was a part of the United States Field Hockey Association Futures Team in 2002.
The daughter of Edward and Deborah Pink, she will be entering Houghton’s pre-med program, majoring in chemistry and minoring in biology.
Houghton field hockey finished 16-2 in 2003, establishing a program mark for wins in a season.
Houghton, a Christian college of 1,300 students in Western New York, is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the American Mideast Conference. Houghton has been named a Champions of Character Institution for the past three years for its active involvement in the NAIA’s Champions of Character Initiative, a program that aims to teach the character values of respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship through athletics. Houghton coaches and student-athletes are working directly with youth organizations, schools, and civic groups to educate, promote and incorporate these values within the sporting or daily activities of youth and adults.
