INDOOR TRACK ATHLETES SET FOR NATIONALS

 

HOUGHTON – Several members of the Houghton College indoor track and field team have qualified to compete at the NAIA National Championship in Johnson City, Tenn., March 3-5.

 

Mary Gibson has qualified in the 800m (best time this season of 2:23.62) and the 1000m (best time this year of 3:01.19). She will be running the 1000m at Nationals. Kerri Koch will be running the Mile at Nationals. Her best time this year is 5:18.76. Jamie Mason will be competing in the Long Jump. Her best jump this season has been 17' 1.5". The women's 4x800 will be run by Kerri Koch, Audrey Seldomridge, Katy Sykes, and Mary Gibson. Their top time this year was 9:49.71.

On the men's side, Ryan Fadden has qualified in the 800m (best time this year of 1:56.62) and the 1000m (best time this year of 2:34.11). He will be running the 800m at Nationals. Peter Wheatley has qualified and will compete in the Pentathlon with a point total of 3455. He has also qualified in the 55mHurdles (60m conversion time of 8.14) and the Long Jump (best jump this season of 22' 5.75").

 


Houghton, a Christian college of 1,300 students in Western New York, is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the American Mideast Conference.
