TRACK TEAM OPENS OUTDOOR SEASON

MARION, Ind. -- Houghton athletes broke three school records at the annual Polar Bear Invitational at Indiana Wesleyan University on March 19.

Jamie Mason set a new mark in the Triple Jump with a jump of 34' 7.75", and Meghan Radimer set new marks in the Hammer (122' 11.5") and Discus (108' 9.5"). She shattered the hammer throw record by more than 20 feet. Radimer also qualified for nationals automatically in the Javelin with a throw of 133' 10.5".

Houghton, a Christian college of 1,300 students in Western New York, is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the American Mideast Conference. Houghton has been named a Champions of Character Institution for the past four years for its active involvement in the NAIA’s Champions of Character Initiative, a program that aims to teach the character values of respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship through athletics.
