FIELD
HOCKEY SIGNS FIRST RECRUIT FOR 2005
HOUGHTON, N.Y. ? Amanda Brenon (Endwell,
N.Y. / Maine-Endwell) has signed a
national letter of intent to play field hockey at Houghton College,
Highlanders head coach Darlene Wells announced today.
Brenon was a key member of a Maine-Endwell
team that finished 17-2-0 and captured
the New York State Class B State Championship in 2004. Brenon scored the
game-winning goal in the state championship game and earned the State
Tournament Sportsmanship Award.
Brenon, a team captain as a senior, received
Second Team Division I All-Star honors
the past three seasons and was also a
three-time Southern Tier Athletic Conference Academic All Star. She tallied
12 goals and five assists in her career, including seven goals and two
assists as a senior.
She is the daughter of James and Theresa
Brenon.
The Highlanders finished the 2004 season with
a record of 11-4-0.
