VOLLEYBALL
SIGNS FIRST RECRUIT
HOUGHTON,
N.Y.
– Staci Krummel (Rising Sun,
Md.
/ Rising Sun) has signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at
Houghton College, Highlanders head coach Nancy Cole announced today.
Krummel, a
two-time Cecil County Player of the Year and three-time team MVP, will
compete for a setter’s position with the Highlanders.
Krummel
finished her four-year career with a school- and
county-record 1,403 assists. She also holds school records for assists in a
game (47), assists in a season (555), aces in a game (12), aces in a season
(69), and aces in a career (130). She helped guide Rising Sun to a 16-4
record, a county title, and a runner-up finish in the
Maryland
2A State Championship last fall.
“I am so excited
that Staci is coming to Houghton. She will be a great fit with our team and
Houghton College,” said Cole. “Staci comes in with many years of experience
at the high school and club level. She is a great competitor who runs her
offense well and has the ability to take the game to the next level. She will
be a major contributor right away.”
She is the
daughter of Joe and Sherri Krummel.
