VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS HONORED BY CONFERENCE

 

HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Four members of the Houghton College women’s volleyball team have been honored by the American Mideast Conference for their play during the 2005 season.

 

Audrey Seldomridge (Landisville, Pa. / Hempfield) was named to the All-AMC North Division Second Team, while Hilary Black (Oro Station, Ont., Canada / Eastview), Robin Frost (Wheaton, Ill. / Wheaton Academy), and Lindsey Norberg (Waterford, Mich. / Oakland Christian) were honorable mention selections.

 

Seldomridge, a 5-8 junior middle hitter, leads the Highlanders in kill percentage (.328) and is second on the team with 297 kills (2.48 per game). She has also tallied 117 digs and 55 blocks.

 

Black, a 5-10 junior middle blocker, leads the Highlanders in blocks (117) while tallying 198 kills and 81 digs. She also is second on the team with a .235 kill percentage.

 

Frost, a 5-9 junior outside hitter, leads the Highlanders in kills with 310 (2.63 per game) and is fourth in kill percentage (.202). She also has 260 digs in 34 regular season matches.

 

Norberg, a 5-6 outside hitter, is a repeat honorable mention selection. She leads the team in aces (47), is second on the team with 636 digs (5.58 per game), and is third in kills (262).

 

The Highlanders (14-20 overall; 9-9 AMC North) have advanced to the AMC Tournament, which will be held at Cedarville (Ohio) University, November 11-12. Houghton is seeded No. 6 in the North and will take on the South Division’s No. 5 seed Walsh University (20-13), Friday, Nov. 11 at noon.
