GIBSON RUNS TO TWO ALL-AMERICA HONORS

 

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- Houghton College senior Mary Gibson (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich. / Grosse Pointe South) ran to All-America honors in the 1000 meters and one mile run at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, March 11.

 

Gibson finished fifth in both events, with the top-six finishers earning points and being named All-America.

 

She ran the 1000 in 2:55.34 and set a school record in the mile with a time of 5:03.25.

 

Gibson is now a four-time All-America performer, having previously earned the honor with a fourth-place finish in the outdoor 800 meters as a freshman and a third-place finish in the indoor 1000 meters as a sophomore.

 

 

Also competing at the national championships for the Highlanders:
