Women’s Soccer Program Earn National Ranking
Houghton,
N.Y. -
With the 2006 fall season just days away, the Women’s Soccer Team has
earned preseason rankings by the NAIA. The NAIA Preseason Top 25 for
the fall sports were released this afternoon with the women’s program
ranked 6th in the nation.
This ranking is
slightly lower from the end of the 2005 season ranking that was 2nd
best in the nation.
The women's soccer
team earned 261 total points giving them the 6th ranking. In
the final ranking of 2005, the women's soccer team was ranked 2nd
following a 20-1-1 record, including a trip to the NAIA National
Tournament.
The Houghton
women's soccer team will begin the year for the fall at home against 9th
ranked Madonna University (MI) on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
Houghton College

by the NAIA to serve as "Champions of Character" Program Centers, opening the door

student-athletes
are working together to change the culture of sport and
to change our culture through sport.
