   Houghton Field Hockey Drop's First Game to SUNY-Cortland 3-1

Houghton, N.Y.- The Houghton Highlander Field Hockey team suffered their first defeat of the season losing to SUNY-Cortland 3-1. The Highlanders record now moves to 2-1 for the season.  

Jr. Elizabeth Mueller (Lancaster, PA) scored the only goal for the Highlanders early in the 1st half at the four minute mark. SUNY-Cortland then came alive for the remaining of the game, overpowering the Highlanders with an 18-2 shots on goal advantage. 

Sr. Erin Frederick (Wilmington, DE) played a vital role having thirteen saves and playing the entire 90 minutes in goal.  

The Highlanders next game is tomorrow at Morrisville College at 4:00pm
