Houghton
College Claims Title at 3rd Annual Defender

Summit, PA – Six teams competed in a round-robin pool-play women’s
volleyball tournament with Houghton College (Houghton, NY) claiming 1st
Place, going 3-0 in competition. Neumann College (Aston, PA) placed 2nd
with a 2-1 record. Both teams placed first in their pool to advance to the
championship game. Houghton College head coach Nancy Cole was encouraged by her
team’s play stating; “we really needed these wins after a tough two weeks of
play and conference play beginning next week.”
Dave
Shumaker, Baptist Bible College head coach and tournament host was also pleased
with the progress of his team gearing up for NEAC conference play. “We had
positive play from our setters and this was a good learning experience.”
Baptist Bible College finished fourth overall in the tournament and faces
Lancaster Bible College and Lycoming College this upcoming week.
