Highlanders Take Care of
Daemen 5-2

Daemen
proved to be no match for the Highlanders who came out strong offensively
scoring four goals in the first half and beating Daemen College 5-2.
Jr. Josiah Snelgrove (Coldstream, New
Brunswick) lead the team with two goals and two assists.
The
scoring started in the 7th minute when
Jr. Josiah Snelgrove (Coldstream,
New Brunswick) scored of a penalty kick.
Just three minutes later Jr. Josiah
Snelgrove (Coldstream, New Brunswick)
assisted Fr. Jesse Woolsey (Fillmore,
NY) took a cross from Jr. Josiah
Snelgrove (Coldstream, New Brunswick)
and one touched the ball into the back of the net. In the 23rd
minute Jr. Josiah
Snelgrove (Coldstream, New Brunswick)
struck again accepting a flat pass from Fr. Daniel
Brubaker (Shippensburg, PA) and hitting the ball low into the
right corner past the Daemen goalkeeper. The scoring continued in the 29th
minute when the ball took a strange bounce in the eighteen yard box that
Jr. Steve Woolsey (Gorham, NY) was
able to finish.
In the
second half, the Highlanders were scored on twice, but remained unphased.
Jr. Steve
Woolsey (Gorham, NY) was able to put the ball in the net again
in the 82nd minute after accepting a pass from
Fr. Daniel
Brubaker (Shippensburg, PA) and placing it perfectly past the
diving Daemen goalkeeper.
The
Highlanders look to continue their winning in the AMC conference and improve
their overall 3-7-2 record and AMC 2-0-1 record on Saturday October 14th
when they take on Tiffin University at 2:00 PM on Burke Field.
Houghton College
