Highlanders Win Over Malone In Shootout

Houghton, N.Y.- The Highlander' s overcame
the winter weather and the persistent Malone College Pioneer's today to advance
to the Region IX finals through a penalty shoot out 4-3. The Highlanders
advanced to the finals through two game breaking saves from
Sr. Meghan Radimer
(Branchville, NJ).
The weather proved to make the game an uphill
battle for both sides trying to take any advantage. The Highlanders had the
clear lead in shots on goal, shooting 8 shots on goal compared to Malone's 1,
but where unable to finish.
The scoring penalty kicks were taken by
Sr. Krista Fowlkes (Lake Placid, FL), So. Hannah Swift (Perrysburg,
NY), Sr. Bridget Toth (Victor,
NY), Sr.
Jenn Switzer (New Milford, NJ).
The Highlanders will now face Tiffin at 2:00 pm on
the Field of Dreams on Saturday for the Region IX Championship.
Houghton College
