Ashley Hoffman (Webster, NY).  In the 33rd minute of play, the Highlanders closed out their scoring with a goal by Fr. Ashley Hoffman (Webster, NY).

On Saturday, the Highlanders faced the Ramapo Roadrunners who previously beat Seton Hill in Friday’s 12:00 PM action by the score of 1-0.  The Roadrunners came out aggressively against the Highlanders scoring in the 4th minute of the game.  The Highlanders did answer the Roadrunners goal typing the game in the 31st minute of action.  The Highlander goal was scored by Sr. Natalie Wenger (Annville, PA) assisted by Sr. Kristen Mazzeo (Braddock, NJ), with that assist Mazzeo tied the Houghton College Women’s Fields Hockey Most Assists in a Career .  The Roadrunners scored in the 2nd minute of the second half, the 37th minute of the game which would later seal their victory.

The Houghton College Post-Season All-Tournament team was Nina D”Urso and Amanda Wichnik of Ramapo College, Melanie Benson of Seton Hill University and Sr. Kristen Mazzeo (Braddock, NJ), Fr. Houghton College has deep and solid roots in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, where our teams use their commitment to excellence, both on the field-of-play and in the classroom, as a platform for their strong and unique

emphasis on Sports Ministry. Their goal is to make a difference for the Kingdom on campus, in Allegany County, in the Northeast and around the world.  Houghton is one of only 13 institutions who have been hand-selected by the NAIA to serve as "Champions of Character" Program Centers, opening the door for Houghton to be a leader, both in the Northeast and nationally, in character education. Through hands-on, innovative community outreach initiatives, Houghton coaches and student-athletes are working together to change the culture of sport and to change our culture through sport.
