     Westmont defeat's Women's Basketball, 54-93

Santa Barbara, CA- The Highlander Women's Basketball team struggled against #21  NAIA Div. 1 ranked Westmont Warriors tonight, 93-54. Three Highlander freshmen scored in double digits for the Highlanders against the overpowering Warriors.

The Warriors started the game with a 10-0 run over the Highlanders in the first 3 minutes of play grabbing the lead for the rest of the game. The Highlanders were plagued with 28 turnovers for the game.

Leah French (Fr. Owego, NY) scored a game high 12 points followed by Erika Forland (Fr. Huntingdon Station, NY) with 11 points and Jessica Smith (Fr. Middleport, NY) who scored 10 points coming off the bench.

The Highlanders move to a 3-5 overall record for the 2006-07 season. Their next opponent in California will be NCAA Div. 2 Cal-State LA Golden Eagles (2-5) on December 30th at 1:00 pm.
