Wise Signs With Men's Soccer
Houghton, NY-
Zach Wise (Cuyahoga Falls, OH / Cuyahoga
Christian Academy) has signed a national letter of intent to play soccer
at Houghton College, Highlander coach Matt Webb announced today.
Wise
comes to Houghton College after completing a successful High School
career, leading Cuyahoga Christian Academy to an OHSAA Div. 3 State
Championship his Sophomore year (2004) and repeating that same success
his Junior year in reaching the OHSAA Div. 2 Final Four. During his
Senior year Cuyahoga Christian Academy gained national status attaining
their first national ranking, losing only to the eventual State
Champions in district playoffs.
In his senior season, Zach had 7 assists
off long throws, he was also selected to the Greater Akron All-Star team
and named to the All-Conference Team. C.V.C.A. went undefeated at home
all 4 years of Zach’s career, recording a 37-0-3 mark and allowed only 9
goals with 12 shutouts in 18 games in the 2006 campaign.
Zach was also selected Captain of his Club
soccer team his last two years (U16, U17), winning the Northern Ohio Cup
and runner up in the Erie Cup in the summer of 2006. Zach is working his
way through college on an Army ROTC scholarship.

"I am very pleased to add Zach to our
program. Zach will initially provide much needed depth to our defensive
core and I anticipate he will be a significant contributor on the field.
Teaming with incoming freshman Chris Davis (Ottawa) we should be very
strong in the back for the next four years. In addition to his presence
on the field, Zach has a passion for serving others. His leadership
abilities and servant heart make him a natural fit for our program as we
seek to serve the Lord in all we do."
Zach is the Son of Michael and Diane Wise
