Women's Soccer Signs Rochester Native Tomlinson
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Carolyn Tomlinson (Victor, NY/ Home
Schooled) has signed a
national letter of intent to play soccer at Houghton College, Highlander coach
David Lewis announced today.

Tomlinson comes to Houghton after completing 4 years as a Midfielder/Defender
for the V/F United Soccer Club in Rochester, NY. During her time they won the
Rochester District Soccer League 1st Division Championships in 2003, 2004, 2005
and in 2006 captured the Upstate NY Premier League Championship.
Carolyn
was named Team Captain, MVP and League All-Star numerous times.
“Carolyn is a player that loves to be pushed; on and off the field," said V/F
United Soccer Coach Lanse Toth. "She loves the game, loves the Lord, and will do
whatever it takes to build up the players around her.”
“Carolyn attended our soccer camp last summer
and impressed me with her skill level and competitive drive," said Highlander
Coach David Lewis. "She is a hard-worker, a determined player, and is a great
fit for our program. I expect her to play a significant role for us as a
freshman at either Midfield or as a Back.”
Carolyn is the daughter of Arthur and Barbara
Tomlinson. She will join her older brother Daniel who is apart of the
Highlanders Men's Basketball Team. She anticipates majoring in Physical Therapy
& Sports Ministry.
About Houghton College Women's Soccer
Houghton finished the 2006 season ranked #5
in the final NAIA National Poll with a record of 18-2-2. They were the AMC North
Champions and reached the Elite 8 at the NAIA National Tournament in Olathe,
Kansas where they fell 1-0 to Nationally Ranked #3 Concordia University, Oregon.
