Men's 4 x 800m Break AMC
Record To Qualify For Nationals
Houghton, NY- The Men's 4 x 800m Relay Team (Dan Ballard, Ryan Fadden, Chad
Stauring, Josiah Snelgrove) set a new AMC record on Day 1 of the 2007
American Mideast Track & Field Championships.
The men shaved close to two full
seconds off the old time setting a new record of 7:44.57 sec.
The record was previously held by Roberts Wesleyan set in 2006
with a time of 7:46.52 sec. With that record the team has also
gained an automatic entry into the 2007 NAIA Outdoor Track &
Field Championship at the end of May.
The men began slowly falling
behind to last place after the first leg.
Josiah Snelgrove took over in the
second leg blasting the field over his two laps advancing the
team from last to second.
Chad Stauring propelled the team
into first place with a season best run that was 4 seconds
better than any time this year, giving the men a sizable lead.
Ryan Fadden closed out the race
sealing a trip to Nationals and the AMC record for the men.

Through hands-on,
innovative community outreach initiatives, Houghton coaches and

are working together to change the culture of sport and
to change our culture through sport.
