Women's Soccer Signs Adams

Houghton, NY-
Chelsea Adams (Cameron,
NY/ Haverling) has signed a national letter of intent to play soccer
at Houghton College, Highlander coach David Lewis announced today.
Chelsea Adams (Cameron,
NY/ Haverling) comes to Houghton as a two-year varsity starter and team
captain, leading Haverling High School to consecutive sectional appearances
reaching the sectional finals in 2005 and semi-finals in 2006.
“Chelsea is a two year Varsity starter.
During these two years Chelsea played a crucial part in our team’s overall
success. I am truly excited to see her play at the next level – she will
make an immediate impact on the team," said Haverling High School coach
Tuesday Mishook.
Chelsea
brings a complete set of credentials to the women's soccer program selected
as a: 1st Team Livingston County All-Star; 1st Team Corning Leader All-Star;
and All-Greater Rochester Honorable Mention in 2005 & 2006. In 2005 she was
selected as a 4th Team All New York State selection while garnering Team
Defensive and Team MVP honors from Haverling High School.
She was also selected as a New York State Scholar Athlete and to the NSCAA
All-Academic Team in 2005 & 2006 including the prestigious Wendy's High
School Heisman Award for Scholarship, Athletics & Citizenship in 2006 as
well.
"Chelsea combines
technical skills with speed and an aggressive style of play," said
Highlander coach David Lewis. "She works hard and is a relentless defender.
I expect her to contribute to our team right away."
She also plans to be a part of the Houghton
College Track & Field Team currently holding the school record at Haverling
High School in the pole vault and reaching the State Qualifiers in 4x800m
Relay.
Chelsea is the daughter of Jackie Adams.

Houghton finished the 2006 season ranked #5
in the final NAIA National Poll with a record of 18-2-2. They were the AMC North
Champions and reached the Elite 8 at the NAIA National Tournament in Olathe,
Kansas where they fell 1-0 to Nationally Ranked #3 Concordia University, Oregon.
