Track and Field Earns 7 AMC Honors

 

Houghton, NY- The Highlander Track and Field team ran away with 7 AMC Honors for the 2007 Track & Field season. Five Houghton College athletes were recognized from the men's team and one from the women's team.

 

Recipients selected for 1st Team All-AMC Track and Field Team honors are:

 

The 4 x 800m Relay Team: Current AMC Record Holders

Dan Ballard (Sophomore, Syracuse, NY), Ryan Fadden (Senior, Hyde Park, NY), Josiah Snelgrove (Junior, Coldstream, New Brunswick, Canada), Chad Stauring (Sophomore, Arkport, NY)

Recipients selected for 2nd Team All-AMC Track and Field honors are:

 

800m - Ryan Fadden (Senior, Hyde Park, NY)

400m Hurdles - Steve Scott (Sophomore, Gouverneur, NY)

3K Race Walk - Rachel Rhodes (Junior, Salamanca, NY)

 

The Highlander Track and Field team competes next in the 56th Annual NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships May 24-26, 2007 - Fresno Pacific University - Fresno, California.

 


Houghton College has deep and solid roots in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, where our teams use their commitment to excellence, both on the field-of-play and in the classroom, as a platform for their strong and unique emphasis on Sports Ministry. Through hands-on, innovative community outreach initiatives, Houghton coaches and student-athletes are working together to change the culture of sport and to change our culture through sport.
