Women's Basketball Signs Hudson

 

         

Houghton, NY- Stephanie Hudson (Bloomfield, NY/ Bloomfield Central) has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Houghton College, Highlander coach Skip Lord announced today.

 

Hudson comes to Houghton as a 2nd Team NY State Class "C" selection for 2006-07 averaging 14.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.8 steals per game for Bloomfield Central who were Co-winners of the Finger Lakes West League and Section V Class "CC" Champions for 2006-07. Bloomfield continued their success deep into the NY Class "CC" playoffs making it to the championship game of the NY Class "CC" State Finals.

 

"Steph is a very solid player who has benefited from participating in two highly successful programs," said Highland Head Coach Skip Lord. "She has been well-coached throughout her career, both on her school teams and on her club teams, and she knows how to win. She runs the floor exceptionally well and is a superb outside shooter. She comes from a great family and is the kind of person we want in our program."

 

Hudson is a two-time Section V All-Star Team selection, including MVP Honors in 2006-07 in Class "CC". A 1st Team Daily Messenger All-League selection and selected to play in the Ronald McDonald All-Star Game. She is also a two-time Democrat and Chronicle All-Greater Rochester Honorable Mention selection and was selected as a Birds Eye Player of the Week in her junior and senior year.

She finishes her career at Bloomfield scoring 1,061 points, 382 rebounds, 252 steals, and 219 assists.

 

Stephanie is the Daughter of John and Janice Hudson. She anticipates in Majoring in Secondary Education.
