Arndt Signs with Highlander Volleyball

Lindsay Arndt, of North Catasauqua, Pa., has signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at Houghton College, Highlander Head Coach Nancy Cole announced today. Arndt graduated from Catasauqua High School, where she was a starter all four years, was captain of the team in 2005 and 2006 and earned All-District Honorable Mention honors in those two years.

Arndt set a school season record with 282 digs in the 2006 season, when the team finished third in District XI with a 16-6 record. Arndt also played for the Crosscourt Volleyball Club.

“Lindsay brings many years of volleyball experience with her,” said Coles, “Her ball control and defense will be important in helping this young Highlander team succeed. We are so excited to have Lindsay join us and know that she will be a great fit with this program.”

Arndt is the daughter of Richard and Susan Arndt of North Catasauqua, Pa. She intends to study art and education at Houghton.

Houghton College has deep and solid roots in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, where our teams use their commitment to excellence, both on the field-of-play and in the classroom, as a platform for their strong and unique emphasis on Sports Ministry. Their goal is to make a difference for the Kingdom on campus, in Allegany County, in the Northeast and around the world.  Houghton is one of only 13 institutions who have been hand-selected by the NAIA to serve as "Champions of Character" Program Centers, opening the door for Houghton to be a leader, both in the Northeast and nationally, in character education. Through hands-on, innovative community outreach initiatives, Houghton coaches and student-athletes are working together to change the culture of sport and to change our culture through sport.
