 Both Cross Country Teams Finish Second At Highlander

Invitational

Houghton, N.Y.—Both the men's and the women's cross country teams placed second in their respective divisions at the third annual Highlander Cross Country Invitational today.

 

Highlights for the Highlanders included Dan Ballard finishing second for the men and Kaity Fadden finishing fifth for the women.

 

The Highlander Invitational has grown to over 270 participating runners representing 11 men's and women's collegiate programs and, for the first time, two high schools: Cuba-Rushford and Franklinville.

 

Houghton's men's team had five top-25 finishers: Dan Ballard (pictured at right), second in 25:36.20; Chad Stauring, sixth, 26:57.60; Mike Platt, 10th, 27:12.60; Landry Jarvis, 17th, 27:37.60; and Jacob Connor, 18th, 27:40.30.

 

The women's team had four top-25 finishers: Kaity Fadden, fifth in 19:16.60; Rachel Rhodes, seventh, 19:29.10; Heather Hutton, 17th, 20:07.30; and Irene Vickner, 22nd, 20:22.20.

 

The cross country teams are back in action September 29, running in the Geneseo Blue Knight Invitational at Letchworth State Park.
