Highlander Field Hockey Win Post Season Tournament

Houghton, N.Y.—The Houghton College field hockey team completed their sweep of the Highlander Post Season Tournament todayshutting out NCAA Div III. Wells College 6-0.

 

Houghton finished the 2007 season in stunning form with a five-game win streak. The women's field hockey team once again dominatedshutting out the Wells College Express in shots and allowing only one corner.

 

Sarah Buckwalter topped the afternoon with two goals. She was joined by Ashley Hoffman, Amanda Brenon and Jenny Huyett who each scored a goal and an assist today. Ashley Pink scored as well --her first of the season--and Emily Leonard had an assist, too.

 

The Highlanders landed five players in the All-Tournament Team with Elizabeth Mueller taking the Most Valuable Player award for her outstanding effort this weekend. 

 

The Highlanders finish the season at 11-9.
