Houghton, N.Y.—The Houghton College field hockey team completed their sweep of the Highlander Post Season Tournament today, shutting out NCAA Div III. Wells College 6-0.
Houghton finished the 2007 season in stunning form with a five-game win streak. The women's field hockey team once again dominated, shutting out the Wells College Express in shots and allowing only one corner.
Sarah Buckwalter topped the afternoon with two goals. She was joined by Ashley Hoffman, Amanda Brenon and Jenny Huyett who each scored a goal and an assist today. Ashley Pink scored as well --her first of the season--and Emily Leonard had an assist, too.
The Highlanders landed five players in the All-Tournament Team with Elizabeth Mueller taking the Most Valuable Player award for her outstanding effort this weekend.

and
solid
roots in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, where our
teams use their commitment to excellence, both on the field-of-play
and
in the classroom, as a platform for their strong and
unique emphasis on Sports Ministry. Their goal is to make a difference
for the Kingdom
on campus, in Allegany County,
in the Northeast and
around
the world.
Houghton is one of only 13 institutions who have been hand-selected
by the NAIA to serve as "Champions of Character" Program Centers, opening the door
for Houghton to be a leader,
both in the Northeast and
nationally, in character education.
Through hands-on,
innovative community outreach initiatives, Houghton coaches and
student-athletes
are working together to change the culture of sport and
to change our culture through sport.
