Houghton Women’s
Basketball Team Cruises Past Fisher
(Boston, Mass.)—The
Houghton College women’s basketball team got out to an early lead and then
cruised to a 69-27 victory over Fisher College on Saturday afternoon.
“It was a
somewhat one-sided game,” said Head Coach Skip Lord, “our youngsters got to
play a lot.” In fact, Lord said, the Highlanders dressed 13 players for the
game and each played approximately 15 minutes.
Freshman guard Stephanie Hudson led Houghton with nine
points on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting night from behind the arc. Senior
forward Ashley Scudder contributed eight rebounds, while Ashley Dupler and
Marci Jonathan gathered seven each.
The win boosts Houghton’s record to 5-3. Their next game
is Friday, January 4, at the Nielsen Center against Ohio Dominican for an
8:00 tip.
