AMC Tournament Walsh def. Houghton, 3-1 (29-31, 30-11, 32-30, 30-21)
CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Walsh ended the season for Houghton volleyball with a 3-1 win in the first round of the AMC Tournament.
The Highlanders played strong, winning the first game, 31-29, and took the Cavaliers to extra points again in the third game, but couldn’t pull out the win.
Lindsey Norberg tallied nine kills and 16 digs for Houghton. Hilary Black chipped in with 12 kills and 11 blocks, Robin Frost added 10 kills, Liz Gardner finished with 23 assists, and Stefanie Swanson added 26 digs.
The Highlanders finish the season with a record of 14-21.
Notre Dame def. Houghton, 3-2 (34-32, 23-30, 31-33, 30-24, 15-9)
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Highlanders played tough against Notre Dame – going ahead 2-1 – but couldn’t put the Falcons away at home.
Robin Frost had a tremendous match, tallying 20 kills and 18 digs. Lindsey Norberg produced 11 kills and 29 digs, while Audrey Seldomridge finished with 19 kills. Liz Gardner (33 assists) and Staci Krummel (29 assists) split setting duties. Hilary Black added nine kills and 11 blocks.
The Highlanders end the regular season with a 14-20 record and a 9-9 AMC mark. They will be seeded No. 6 in the North Division in the AMC Tournament at Cedarville, November 11-12.
Houghton def. Carlow, 3-0 (30-25, 30-12, 30-26)
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Highlanders broke their three-game conference losing streak with a 3-0 win over Carlow at home.
Lindsey Norberg led the way with 10 kills, 27 digs, and two aces. Robin Frost added 15 kills and six blocks, Stefanie Swanson finished with 20 digs and four aces, and Liz Gardner (18 assists) and Staci Krummel (23 assists) split setting duties.
Roberts Wesleyan def. Houghton, 3-0 (30-21, 30-19, 30-27)
N. CHILI, N.Y. – The Highlanders played well, but the Raiders were hard to beat at home, as Roberts to a 3-0 win over Houghton in an AMC North Division match.
Hilary Black finished with nine kills, Lindsey Norberg had 21 digs, and Liz Gardner and Staci Krummel tallied 13 assists each.
Seton Hill def. Houghton, 3-1 (20-15, 30-25, 26-30, 30-19)
GREENSBURG, Pa. – Houghton lost its third-straight conference volleyball match, falling 3-1 to Seton Hill.
Robin Frost, Audrey Seldomridge, and Lindsey Norberg each had seven kills to lead the Highlanders. Norberg added a team-high 18 digs, while Staci Krummel chipped in with 18 digs and Stefanie Swanson added 13 digs. Liz Gardner finished with 15 assists.
Geneva def. Houghton, 3-2 (30-22, 29-31, 30-28, 30-32, 15-12)
GREENSBURG, Pa. – Houghton went the distance against Geneva but couldn’t pull out the win, losing 3-2 in the first match of the day at Seton Hill.
Hilary Black and Robin Frost each hammered 13 kills, while Lindsey Norberg chipped in with 11 kills and 30 digs. Stefanie Swanson added 19 digs, Audrey Seldomridge finished with 10 kills, and Liz Gardner and Staci Krummel dished out 28 and 24 assists, respectively.
St. Vincent def. Houghton, 3-0 (30-12, 30-23, 30-19)
LATROBE, Pa. – The Highlanders began their three-match road trip with a 3-0 loss to the Bearcats of St. Vincent in AMC volleyball action Friday night.
Robin Frost was the only Houghton player to reach double figures in kills, with 10. Lindsey Norberg added eight kills and 14 digs, Liz Gardner finished with 13 digs, and Stefanie Swanson chipped in with 12 digs. Gardner and Staci Krummel had nine assists each.
Houghton def. Ursuline, 3-0 (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – The Highlanders rolled to a three-game win over Ursuline to improve to 13-15 overall and 8-4 in AMC North play.
Staci Krummel finished with 21 assists, Lindsey Norberg (12 kills, two aces) and Stefanie Swanson had 22 digs each, and Audrey Seldomridge tallied 10 kills.
Houghton def. Point Park, 3-1 (33-35, 30-18, 30-20, 30-27)
PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – Houghton responded from a long first game loss to get past Point Park, 3-1.
Liz Gardner tallied 21 assists and two aces, Lindsey Norberg had 37 digs, Robin Frost finished with 13 kills to lead the Highlanders. Stefanie Swanson added 23 digs, Hilary Black chipped in with nine blocks, and Audrey Seldomridge tallied 10 kills.
Houghton def. Daemen, 3-2 (22-30, 23-30, 30-24, 30-24, 15-12)
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Highlanders made it exciting for the hometown fans, falling behind Daemen, zero games to two, before rebounding with three-straight wins to pull out the 3-2 match victory.
Audrey Seldomridge led the Highlanders’ attack with 12 kills. Robin Frost and Hilary Black (six blocks) each added 11 kills. Liz Gardner finished with 22 assists and 16 digs, while Lindsey Norberg and Stefanie Swanson chipped in with 34 and 29 digs, respectively. Staci Krummel added 18 assists and 12 digs. Teresa Rose had five blocks.
Siena Heights (Mich.) def. Houghton, 3-0 (30-21, 30-27, 30-26)
ELGIN, Ill. – The Highlanders finished the Judson Quadmatch Tournament against the Saints of Siena Heights. They lost in straight sets, 3-0.
This marked the 5th straight loss for the Highlanders, dropping their record to 10-15 on the season.
Audrey Seldomridge led the Houghton offense with 12 kills while Elizabeth Gardner and Lindsey Norberg each had 13 digs to help Houghton on the defensive end. Elizabeth Gardner and Staci Krummel continue to split setting duties as they finished with 15 and 12 assists, respectively.
Judson (Ill.) def. Houghton, 3-0 (30-22, 30-21, 30-21)
ELGIN, Ill. – Houghton lost its second match in the Judson Quadmatch to the host Eagles, three games to none.
Lindsay Norberg had seven kills and 17 digs while Laura Jarvis added 16 digs. Elizabeth Gardner and Staci Krummel again split the setting duties registering 13 and 10 assists, respectively.
Goshen (Ind.) def. Houghton, 3-0 (30-28, 31-29, 30-17)
ELGIN, Ill. – The Highlanders traveled to Elgin, Illinois to play in the Judson College Quadmatch Tournament. They lost a tough first match in straight sets to the Maple Leafs, 3-0.
Elizabeth Gardner had 19 assists and 11 digs while Stefanie Swanson contributed with 14 digs. Audrey Seldomridge led the Houghton attack, registering eight kills.
Trinity Christian def. Houghton, 3-1 (30-22, 30-23, 27-30, 30-25)
PALOS HEIGHT, Ill. – The visiting Highlanders faced a tough opponent in the Trinity Christian Trolls as they lost 3-1 on Thursday.
Laura Jarvis had 22 digs while teammate Stefanie Swanson finished with 20. Staci Krummel and Elizabeth Gardner split setting duties as they finished with 23 and 18 assists, respectively. Robin Frost led the Houghton attack with 11 kills while Hilary Black finished with 10 kills.
St. Vincent def. Houghton, 3-0 (30-20, 30-12, 30-27)
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Highlanders faced a tough foe in their Homecoming match, losing 3-0 to AMC North Division leaders St. Vincent.
Laura Jarvis and Stefanie Swanson registered 19 and 18 digs respectively. Staci Krummel finished with 16 assists as she split setting duties with Elizabeth Gardner (14 assists). The attack was led by Audrey Seldomridge and Tereas Rose, each finishing with eight kills.
Houghton def. Ursuline, 3-1 (31-29, 30-32, 31-29, 30-19)
PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – The host Ursuline Arrows took the Highlanders to the limit for the first three games, before Houghton pulled out the 3-1 match win.
The Highlanders have now won five-straight matches to bring their overall record to 10-10. They are 5-3 in the AMC North.
Lindsey Norberg produced 20 kills and 40 digs for the winners. Stefanie Swanson and Laura Jarvis had 28 and 23 digs respectively on the defensive end, while Audrey Seldomridge (16 kills) and Robin Frost (15 kills) helped offensively. Elizabeth Gardner finished with 37 assists.
Houghton def. Point Park, 3-0 (30-23, 30-18, 30-25)
PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – Lindsey Norberg tallied 12 kills to lead the Highlanders to a 3-0 win over Point Park and give head coach Nancy Cole her 200th career victory.
Stefanie Swanson added 18 digs, Elizabeth Gardner finished with 19 assists and Audrey Seldomridge chipped in with eight kills.

HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Highlanders returned to the friendly confines of the Nielsen Center to register a 3-1 win over Baptist Bible.
Lindsey Norberg led Houghton with 11 kills, six digs, and two aces, freshman Staci Krummel chipped in with six digs, 17 assists, and three aces, and Audrey Seldomridge finished with 12 kills.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Highlanders rolled over a young Daemen squad, knocking off their AMC North rivals in three-straight games.
Elizabeth Gardner spearheaded the attack with 30 assists. Emily Kuvshinikov finished with eight kills, Lindsey Norberg tallied six kills and 13 digs, and Stefanie Swanson chipped in with 28 digs.

DEARBORN, Mich. – The Highlanders grabbed a 3-1 consolation match victory over Rochester to finish 2-2 at the University of Michigan-Dearborn Tournament.
Elizabeth Gardner finished with 50 assists to lead the Highlander offense. Lindsey Norberg tallied 12 kills and 37 digs and Stefanie Swanson chipped in with 50 digs from her libero position.
Huntington (Ind.) def. Houghton, 3-0 (30-23, 30-14, 30-21)
DEARBORN, Mich. – The Huntington College Forresters cut down the Highlanders in three-straight games to start the second day of the University of Michigan-Dearborn Tournament.
Elizabeth Gardner managed 30 assists, Hilary Black tallied six kills and six blocks, and Stefanie Swanson finished with 33 digs.

DEARBORN, Mich. – The Highlanders finished the first day of the University of Michigan-Dearborn Tournament on a good note, knocking off Rochester, 3-0.
Lindsey Norberg led the attack with 12 kills and added 20 digs. Elizabeth Gardner tallied 22 assists and Hilary Black chipped in with six kills.

DEARBORN, Mich. – Houghton struggled against the host school in the first match of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, falling in three-straight games.
Elizabeth Gardner finished with 19 assists, Stefanie Swanson had 21 digs, and Audrey Seldomridge tallied seven kills.

HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Highlanders (4-8 overall; 2-3 AMC) salvaged a split in their first home conference tri-match of the season, knocking off Geneva, 3-1.
Elizabeth Gardner finished with 48 assists, while four players reached double digits in kills. Lindsey Norberg and Robin Frost tallied 13 kills each, Teresa Rose added 12, and Audrey Seldomridge chipped in with 10. Stefanie Swanson finished with 28 digs, while Norberg added 14.
Seton Hill def. Houghton, 3-0 (30-25, 30-24, 30-25)
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Highlanders kept the scores close in each game but couldn’t overcome the hard hitting Griffins of Seton Hill, losing 3-0, at home.
Elizabeth Gardner tallied 26 assists, Stefanie Swanson had 17 digs, and Lindsey Norberg finished with eight kills and nine digs.
Roberts Wesleyan def. Houghton, 3-1 (30-12, 27-30, 30-23, 32-30)
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Houghton dropped their second match of the season to AMC North rival Roberts Wesleyan, 3-1, on Tuesday.
Audrey Seldomridge put away 18 kills, Stefanie Swanson had 35 digs, and Elizabeth Gardner tallied 40 assists to lead the Highlanders, who fall to 3-7 overall and 1-2 in the AMC. Roberts improves to 8-4; 1-0.
Notre Dame def. Houghton, 3-1 (30-22, 31-29, 19-30, 32-30)
S. EUCLID, Ohio – The Highlanders held off the Falcons in the third game, but couldn’t avoid the four-game loss to host Notre Dame of Ohio.
Houghton got great all-around play from Elizabeth Gardner (51 assists, four kills), Lindsey Norberg (12 kills, 28 digs, six aces), Robin Frost (nine kills, 23 digs), and Audrey Seldomridge (13 kills, four blocks). Stefanie Swanson put on a great defensive performance with 51 digs.

S. EUCLID, Ohio – Robin Frost tallied 14 kills and 13 digs and Elizabeth Gardner recorded 40 assists to lead the Higlanders to a 3-0 win over Carlow College.
Lindsey Norberg and Stefanie Swanson added 25 and 14 digs, respectively, while Audrey Seldomridge finished with 11 kills for Houghton (3-6 overall; 1-0 AMC).

N. CHILI, N.Y. – The Highlanders earned their second-straight win, 3-0 over Messiah College, to earn the top spot in the Bronze Division at the Robert Wesleyan Volleyball Tournament.
All-tournament selection Elizabeth Gardner finished with 34 assists. Stefanie Swanson added 22 digs, Robin Frost chipped in with 13 kills, and Laura Jarvis tallied nine kills, four blocks, and four aces.
Gardner was named to the all-tournament team.
Houghton def. Grandview (Iowa), 3-1 (30-21, 30-26, 27-30, 30-22)
N. CHILI, N.Y. – Houghton grabbed its first win of the season, a 3-1 victory over Grandview, on the second day of the Roberts Wesleyan Volleyball Tournament.
Elizabeth Gardner finished with 32 assists, Lindsey Norberg had 10 kills and 20 digs, Robin Frost tallied 11 kills and 12 digs, while Emily Kuvshinikov chipped in with six kills and five blocks.
Mt. Vernon Nazarene def. Houghton, 3-0 (30-20, 30-25, 30-15)
N. CHILI, N.Y. – The Highlanders couldn’t get past a tough Mt. Vernon Nazarene squad, losing 3-0 in the second match of the Roberts Wesleyan Volleyball Tournament.
Stefanie Swanson finished with 24 digs to lead the Highlander defensively. Lindsey Norberg had a solid all-around performance with seven kills, 12 digs, and two blocks. Elizabeth Gardner added 21 assists.
Rio Grande def. Houghton, 3-1 (17-30, 30-27, 30-17, 30-23)
N. CHILI, N.Y. – The Highlanders remained winless on the season after a 3-1 loss to the University of Rio Grande in the first round of the Roberts Wesleyan Volleyball Tournament.
Elizabeth Gardner tallied 34 assists, Lindsey Norberg finished with six kills, 13 digs and two aces, Stefanie Swanson chipped in with 19 digs and seven aces, Emily Kuvshinikov added 13 kills and three blocks, while Audrey Seldomridge tallied 10 kills and five blocks.
Malone def. Houghton, 3-0 (30-27, 30-17, 30-18)
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Houghton wrapped up the 2005 Highlander Quadmatch Volleyball Tournament with a 0-3 showing against AMC South Division foe Malone College.
Elizabeth Gardner finished with 25 assists and four digs, Laura Jarvis added 18 digs, and Lindsey Norberg tallied seven kills and 13 digs.
Concordia (Neb.) def. Houghton, 3-0 (30-21, 30-14, 30-23)
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Highlanders fell to 0-2 with a straight-games loss to Concordia University.
Robin Frost had eight kills and three digs, Lindsey Norberg added 19 digs, Laura Jarvis tallied 10 digs, and Elizabeth Gardner chipped in with 12 assists.
Roberts Wesleyan def. Houghton 3-1 (30-27, 30-26, 28-30, 30-20)
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Highlanders opened the 2005 season with a 1-3 loss to Roberts Wesleyan in the opening match of the 2005 Highlander Quadmatch Volleyball Tournament.
Elizabeth Gardner recorded 47 assists in her first match as Highlander setter. Lindsey Norberg added 10 kills and 17 digs, Robin Frost tallied 14 kills and 11 digs, Emily Kuvshinikov added 13 kills, and Audrey Seldomridge chipped in with 12 kills, six digs, and two blocks.
