Valaitis Earns Academic Award
(4/18/2008) (Houghton, N.Y.)—The Basketball Coaches Association of New York (BCANY) has named Rimgaudas Valaitis, a 6-5 senior forward for the men’s basketball team, as a Scholar Athlete. The association awards the honor to players who have earned a grade point average of 3.2 or higher at the end of the first semester of their senior year.

Highlanders Men’s Basketball Players Honored
(3/11/2008) (Houghton, N.Y.)—Three Houghton College men’s basketball players have earned honors from the American Mideast Conference (AMC) North Division. Sophomore forwards Mada Abdelhamid and Yannick Anzuluni were named All-AMC North, Second Team, while sophomore guard Ben Kopp earned honorable mention.

Malone Closes Out Highlanders
(2/23/2008) (Canton, Ohio)—The men’s basketball team’s season came to an end Saturday night at the hands of the Malone College Pioneers, 83-65. Pictured at left: Senior Rim Valaitis made his last college game memorable by shooting 6-12 (4-8 from beyond the arc) on his way to a team-high 18 points.
