(9/5/2008) (Cortland, N.Y.)—For the second straight game the Houghton College men’s soccer team got goals from Chris Cruikshank and Steve Grudda (pictured) and won, 2-0. Friday night their victims were the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons, coached by former Highlanders head coach Dwight Hornibrook.

Men Open Season with 2-0 Win Over Gannon
(8/30/2008) (Houghton, N.Y.)—Two second-half goals propelled the Houghton men’s soccer team to a 2-0 win over Gannon University in the season opener for both teams at Burke Field Saturday night. “It’s a great start for us,” said Matthew Webb, Houghton’s head coach, “Gannon is a good team.”

Experience and Expectations for Men’s Soccer Season
(8/25/2008) HOUGHTON, N.Y. —“I have pretty high hopes for this fall,” says Matthew Webb, head coach of the Houghton College men’s soccer team. Who can blame him? The Highlanders are coming off a successful 9-4-5 season which took them all the way to the semifinal game of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ (NAIA) Region IX for the second straight year, just a game short of qualifying for the national tournament.

Ortlip to Join Men’s Soccer Team
(5/19/2008) (Houghton, N.Y.)—Henry Ortlip, a graduate of the Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (CVCA) in Ohio, will join the Houghton College men’s soccer team in the fall. Ortlip—who sat out last year, but trained with the team—will play full-time in 2008.
