National Champion in the Women's Triple Jump; Julius Rono,
Roberts Wesleyan, 2006 and 2007 Indoor National Champion in the
Men's 1000 Meter Run; Jason Scott, Cedarville, 2006 & 2007
Indoor National Champion in the Men's Pole Vault.
Houghton Athletes to Watch: Sr. Ryan Fadden is a
multi-national's competitor in the 800m and 4x800 Relays
(All-American at 2007 Indoor Nationals in the Men's 800); Sr.
Meghan Radimer, 3x national competitor in the Javelin Throw and
holds all Houghton throwing records except for the outdoor Shot
Put; Sr. Jamie Mason, participated in Indoor Nationals in the
Long Jump and holds all Long Jump and Triple Jump records at
Houghton except for the outdoor Long Jump; Sr. Joe Mason, 2x
national competitor in the Shot Put and holds all Houghton
College throwing records except the Javelin; Sr. Naomi
Christensen holds many of the sprinting records for Houghton
College (indoor 55m, 200m, 400m, and outdoor 400m) and competed
in indoor nationals in the 400m; Jr. Rachel Rhodes, has competed
in indoor and outdoor nationals in the Race Walk receiving
All-American honors at the last indoor championship; The Men's
4x800 Relay team (Dan Ballard, Josiah Snelgrove, Chad Stauring
and Ryan Fadden) broke the school record at the indoor national
championship and is poised to take significant time off of the
outdoor school record as they attempt to qualify for Outdoor
Nationals - they the favorites at the AMC Championship; other
relay teams to watch include the Women's 4x100 Relay and 4x400
Relay.
Expected Turnout- 800 Athletes, Coaches and support staff from participating AMC Conference schools and over 1000 spectators from Northern Pennsylvania, Ohio and Western New York. |
