Minors: Math and Trumpet performance
Mark has always loved the combination of physics and music. It’s how his brain works and he spends most of his time doing one or the other.
With a love for learning and teaching that has followed him through college, Mark plans on continuing his education, eventually getting a Ph.D. in physics. After that, he says he’ll “never leave school again, because I’ll be a professor!” Mark enjoys exploring how physics work, in his Experimental Physics lab and playing trumpet (occasionally) with Philharmonia.
Mark chose Houghton because it was known as a Christian school with a great physics program, and he continues to enjoy it.
In his free time, Mark runs skis, bikes, and camps. He loves the outdoors.
On a typical Saturday night you’ll find Mark at his house, chilling with his housemates, watching a movie, or talking about ridiculous things.
Mark recently ran a 26 mile marathon!
